Training and Capacity Building are most important components of Watershed Management Programme both for the field level officers and functionaries of people’s institutions i.e., watershed community, which generally remain neglected.
In the case of holistic, integrated, people oriented, participatory nature of Integrated Watershed Management Project, the need for capacity Building of primary and secondary stakeholders of the project gain more importance.
It is also essential for proper grooming of the people involved in project implementation and for understanding the various or aspects of the project or problems in proper perspectives.
Hence, training has been given importance and included as a vital component
Apart from enhancing technical skills of project stakeholders, this would also provide opportunities for the community members to develop their capacity as the future custodians of the programme after project withdrawal phase.
